About Us
Stoughton and Associates, inc. is a Manufacturer’s Representative’s Agency specializing in the representation, as Channel Partner’s, of quality manufacturers of products used in the Electric Utility market.
We serve this market either directly, through Consultants, or through Distributors, depending on the product.
Stoughton and Associates is a well established, well connected agency. We are firmly entrenched in the Electric Utility industry in the Southeastern United States in all market’s; IOU’s, Cooperatives, and Municipals.
We pride ourselves on the success of those manufacturers we represent.
History
Our business was founded in 1976, as an "S" corporation in the State of Georgia, jointly, by J. Brady Stoughton, Jr. and his son, Warren Stoughton. Brady retired and sold his interest in the business to Warren in 1986. Brady had extensive executive background in the Electric Utility Supply industry including having worked as Zone Vice President of McGraw Edison (now Cooper Industries) and Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Kearney Company. Warren had worked for Georgia Power Company in various areas while in college. In 2006, Warren’s son Patrick joined the company and represents the third generation to work for Stoughton and Associates. We are members of the Power Engineering Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (PES/IEEE) as well as members of the Electrical Equipment Representatives Association (EERA).
